Return of the Inline-Six

The inline-six engine design has long been revered for its simplicity, inherent balance, and smoothness. Now, the design is making a comeback, with Mercedes, BMW, and Jaguar, all offering similar straight-six engines with mild-hybrid technology. Engineers at Mazda, however, are taking things a step further by introducing an inline-six engine with Mazda's revolutionary 'holy grail' Skyactive-X compression ignition technology, and we can't wait. Mazda has yet to release the exact details of when it'll reach consumers, but we'll let you know as soon as we know!
